Week 14 - Drift racing in Tynagh, part 2

I decided to skip week 13 and go straight on to week 14.... Ok, I'm joking, we were away for a couple of days and I did'nt bring the camera with me. Anyway, time for another blog! I was back in Tynagh over the weekend to photograph another round of the IGR championship series. And this time, I'm really happy with the results!

Blue skies! The weather was definitely  better than the constant drizzle we had to put up with the last time

My personal favorite, it's an old.....Daihatsu...? I'm really not exactly sure what it is, but by god he was fast.

Looks good in b/w, doesn't it?

Pink smoke!

Those two were fantastic together!

An old BMW E30 with a burbling V8? Yes please!

And that's it for the moment, I'll upload a few more images into the gallery in the next couple of days. As always thanks for looking, leave a comment if you like the post, or even better, share this blog post.

Week 8 - Sideways

Another short blog post today. But today its not because I didn't get out with the camera, no its quite the opposite. Sigita Playdon, a fellow photographer from Galway Camera Club,  and I went to photograph a drift race in Tynagh. After photographing the Galway Rally two weeks ago, this was the second motorsport event I got to photograph recently,

And I have to say, it's a nice break from landscapes and portraits, I'm really getting into this type of photography. Anyway, I came home with around 1200 jpegs to go through....which could take a while....:)

So here is just one image from today...going sideways! I'll update the blog during the week and add some more shots from Tynagh.

Better late than never, more shots from Tynagh.

Shooting the vent was great fun, despite of the rain. There is another race in April, and I'd love to give it another go.

BMW seems to be the brand of choice when it comes to drifting...

A little panorama

Ok, let's try a different colour...

Shooting the race was fun....going through 1200 afterward....not so much

That's nearly it from Tynagh

Week 7 - A walk on the wild side - the color version

Kind of a lazy blog post today, didn't get out with the camera during the week as much. Well I got some nice interior shots of Kilcolgan castle yesterday, but I'll post them when I have a complete set of shots of the castle.

Bridge on the Doolin side of the walk, the famous Doonagore castle in the background.

So in this weeks blog post we are back in Doolin. I submitted one of the images from the Doolin walk to the Burrenbeo Trust photo competition, first price is a night in the Doolin hotel....wouldn't mind a short break in Doolin!

One of my favorite images from the day....thinking about getting this one printed

Or this one?

The light was really special on the day. I bought a weatherproof camera cover this week to protect the camera on future outings. Photographing waves can be great fun, but the sea spray isn't all that good for electronic equipment.

Further down the coast

That's the image I submitted to the Burrenbeo competition

I love this one as well

That's it for this week, more here next week. Thanks for looking, feel free to leave a comment, share this post, or even buy a print:)

Week 6 - The Galway Rally 2015

A quick post today, because I want to go back to Gort later on to see more of the Galway rally. I was in and around Gort for a couple of hours yesterday, and here is what I came back with:

Ze Germans are here:) Team Koelle/Hutzfeldt from Germay in their Porsche 911.

There were quite a few old Porsche's at the rally

Another classic in action.

Time for a service

Mrs Brown's Boys.....

That lovely old 911 again.....retro style:)
