The Saltees aren't just home to one of Irelands biggest Gannet colonies, the island is also home to Razorbills, Shags, Gulls and of course, Puffins.
I found Razorbills to be very photogenic!
A mysterious bird in the background...
Lets have a look at the guy in the background
After the flying Gannet-Dolphin hybrid, here is a Razorbill in flight
Another impressive species, that can be found on the Saltees, are the Great black-backed gulls.
They are the largest gull in the world
What's missing? Puffins of course! There is a small Puffin colony on the island....and even though I already have plenty of shots from last years trip to the Skelligs...I simply couldn't resist.
Great Saltee island was an experience! I'd love to go back there next year! I'd like to say a special thanks to Des Glynn for organizing the trip, and also to all other members of Galway Club who were there on the weekend! We had a fabulous time, thanks guys!
