The newly opened coastal walk between Doolin and the Cliffs Of Moher is one of my favorite walks in Ireland. Actually, it is my favorite walk at the moment! The walk starts just outside in Doolin in Co. Clare and runs parallel to the Burren coast all the way to the Cliffs of Moher. It's a beautiful walk on a nice summer day.....but it really comes to life, when the winter storms hit the coast!

The conditions were almost perfect last Friday, it was dry, sunny, and we had winds strong enough to produce spectacular waves.
The wind pushing spray over the edge of the cliffs
A cloud of spray making its way up the cliffs
The light and the really strong contrasts in the scenes made me go for black and white. Even though they look good in color as well. I'll show some of the color versions later on.
I was lucky with the light on the day, with the sun illuminating the waves from behind.
Time to move a bit further down the coastline, closer to the Cliffs of Moher.
Gulls surfing the breeze
And one last one
And that's it for part one. I'll post the color versions in a separate post, they deserve their own blog entry.
