Julian Gough - A Quick Portrait Shoot in Berlin

Good Morning, it's a grey day here today, time for a little update. I was in Germany in October, I spent a weekend on the Baltic coast with a lot of other photographers from Germany. I'll post some shots from that trip later. Coming back from the Baltic I stopped in Berlin to visit friends and to photograph Julian Gough.

A friend had asked me to photograph Julian for a book project he is working on.

So I met Julian in one of Berlins trendiest districts, Mitte. We didn't have a lot of time for the shoot, but luckily, there was small park just around the corner.

I have to say, I'm really pleased with the photos we got! And even more important...so is Julian!

Black and white for portraits! The color versions look good, but in my opinion, portraits look much better in black and white.

The head shots were taken with my 85mm 1.8 lens, and the wider shots with the 35mm 1.8 Nikon prime lens. I love those lenses! They are sharp, light and best of all, relatively affordable.

A big thanks to Julian for his time!

That's it for today, next time, I'll post some shots from my trip to the Baltic coast.
