Autumn Morning, Coole Park

A beautiful autumn morning in Coole Park, Co. Galway. Join me for a stroll through the famous woods on a magical October morning.

A bit of good news first…I promise not to quote Yeats in this article:) I'll leave the writing about Coole Park's literary history to historians and poets.

Yesterday morning I was supposed to go up Mullaghmore in the Burren with a friend. We met at 6 in the morning at the trailhead, but the fog yesterday was so thick, that we both decided that there was no point going up Mullaghmore.

Heading home after a disappointing start of the day I thought, let’s see what the woods of Coole Park look like on a foggy morning.

And well….the unplanned trip to Coole was definitely worth it. The forests were a bathed in morning fog, the colors ranged from autumn reds and yellows to fresh greens. It was easy to see why Coole has inspired so many artists over the centuries.

And that’s it, no poems, no history lessons…just a walk through the magnificent woods of Coole on a Thursday morning in October.

P.S.

A selection of the images are available to buy as prints in my shop
