Winter in The Burren

It’s winter in the Burren, the grey of the limestone dominates the landscape, the hazel forests lay bare, there is very little green in the Burren at this time of the year. But still, not all is dull and grey. Inside the the thick hazel forests lies a little wonderland of evergreen ferns and mosses.

And then there is the light! That beautiful winter light! Yes, it rained a lot here over the last few weeks. In fact, it rained so much, that I was half tempted to book a ticket to Barbados. But for now I’m here…and so is the rain…and the beautiful light that follows every rain shower.
